Love Remains, Goosebumps and Giveaway Alert!

My Dear Music Family,

Do you ever wonder how much your actions or message may affect someone? Every time I find myself doing a “pay it forward” deed, whether it is something as simple as adding more time to a parking meter that is about to expire or getting Starbucks coffee for the person behind me, there’s a part of my heart that hopes he or she will in turn, do something for another soul out there.

Most days, I freely go about my day, doing what calls to me and fuels my passion–music. You’ve heard me time and time again share how I feel so aligned with purpose when I am creating, playing, sharing my music with the world.

Then there are those days when it feels like Spirit is co-creating with me and any giving I have done comes back tenfold.  What I am about to share was such a gift, not only for her, but also for me.

Last week, I received an email message that touched my heart. It was from a dear member from my church.  Her husband had passed away just a couple months ago and she wrote to share how much my music meant to her. Especially the song “Love Remains”…and how it helped her during these trying times.

Here are the lyrics to “Love Remains”, and the goosebumps that I was feeling when I wrote this song– is what she was feeling too.

I woke up this morning; I was feeling kinda low.
I wish that I could call you and hear you say hello.
Your voice would always cheer me and no trouble was too small.
But you heard the harps a playing and never complained at all.

Truth is, when all of life and death has swept over us,
Truth is, love will remain.
Love crosses over and love remains.
Love crosses over and love remains.

I know you were ready; it was written in God’s book.
And you went up to meet him without a tearful look.
Now I’m here so lonely and I wish you’d give a sign.
I’d love to feel you near me, hold your hand just one more time.

Truth is, when all of life and death has swept over us,
Truth is, love will remain.
Love crosses over and love remains.
Love crosses over and love remains.

I know love is lasting and I know that love remains.
Give me wings to fly till I see your face again.
Is there some way you can help me, give me strength to carry on?
Where you lead me I will follow and I will sing my song.

So as we get closer to the hallmark holiday called Valentine’s Day, I have a challenge for you. Will you go out and share your love with someone everyday between now and next Wednesday? It can be something as simple as feeding a meter or helping someone with his or her groceries. It may not take but a minute, but if we all did it, think of how we can shift low energies into higher ones filled with love?
